Often our clients recognise they have a problem or need that requires addressing but are unsure of the best solution. One of the particular strengths of Geoff and the other Northern Sheetmetals staff is problem-solving and finding solutions.

Some of our clients provide us with engineering drawings for us to work from, but the majority of work is hand-sketched or drawn up by our own staff from discussions with the client.  When required, Northern Sheetmetals can arrange for professional drawings to be produced – this most frequently is required when structures or apparatus need to meet safety or weight-bearing requirements, or if the unit under production is interfacing with complex electrical or mechanical devices. 

The majority of our work involves fabricating the common metals:
Mild Steel, Galvanised Steel, Stainless Steel, Colour Steel, Electro Galv (Zintex), Copper and Aluminium.  We also bend plastic sheets such as Polycarbonate.  We have a close relationship with businesses we outsource work to, such as Laser Cutting, Water Jet Cutting, Engineering, Machining and Powder Coating.
 
Although the majority of our work is ‘one-offs’ or small runs which enable us to experience new challenges; runs of production-type work are also carried out efficiently and accurately, with a continuous focus on our customer’s needs.

At Northern Sheetmetals we aim to provide a one-stop service for our clients. From one-off fabrication to large production runs of simple or complex units, we welcome clients to our workshop, but are equally happy to discuss requirements at their own premises.
